Nickelsville Virginia is our town. Whether you were born and raised here, or you just just arrived yesterday, you are part of our town. Our town and area is rich in history with structures like the Kilgore Fort House  and Bush Mill  on the National Register of Historic Places. Nickelsville is also the 1909 birthplace of "Mother" Maybelle Carter  who is considered by many as the mother of country music. While most of our residents work in surrounding metro areas like Kingsport, Tn. and Abingdon, Va. many still operate farms just like former generations. Area attractions include the Natural Tunnel State Park , Bristol Motor Speedway , Carter Family Fold , great hiking and more on the Guest River Gorge Trail  and Daniel Boone Birding Trail . You can even see tigers, monkeys, bears and other critters at the Creation Kingdom Zoo just a few miles from our town.

If you already live here you know Nickelsville offers a great environment to put down roots, raise a family, and have good neighbors. Our kids go to some of the best public schools in the state with Nickelsville Elementary School  being a past winner of the prestigious Governor's Award for Educational Excellence. Students at our high school, Twin Springs High School , consistently test well above state accreditation benchmarks in English, Math, History and Science.

It's good to be in Nickelsville where we're Growing Together.
